2019 Michigan Chapter Online Scholarship Application ​


Graduating High School Student

Michigan Chapter Scholarship – $500 up to $3,000

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be accepted at an accredited college/university/vocational-technical institution.
  • Applicant should possess a 2.5 GPA average or more(on a 4.0 scale upon graduation from high school
  • Applicant must express a desire to work in the field of transportation or a transportation-related discipline.

Undergraduate Student 

Garrett A. Morgan Transportation Achievement Scholarship – $500 to $3,000

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be an undergraduate student entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) semester credits at an accredited college/university in the fall of 2019.
  • Applicant must be pursuing a degree in Engineering, Planning, or other technical transportation-related discipline.
  • Applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • If the applicant is not a current member of COMTO, they must become a member within thirty (30) days of the scholarship award.

Graduate Student

Garrett A. Morgan Transportation Achievement Scholarship – $500 to $3,000

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a graduate student enrolled in an accredited college/university in the fall of 2019.
  • *Applicant must be pursuing a graduate degree in Engineering, Planning, or other technical transportation-related discipline.
  • Applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • If the applicant is not a current member of COMTO, they must become a member within

All applicants must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident and are able to apply for more than one scholarship if the applicant meets the scholarship’s specific requirements.  All applications must be complete for consideration.  Applications must be submitted by the end of the day on Saturday, April 20, 2019.  Winners will be notified by Monday, May 20, 2019. Selections will be made by a team of industry professionals and representatives from the academic community. Winners will be publicly announced at the 7th Annual Scholarship and Golf Outing, Thursday, June 13, 2019 with the winners expected to be in attendance.
