2017 Garrett A. Morgan Youth Symposium

We are very excited to announce that the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) 46th National Meeting and Training Conference is coming to Detroit, July 14-18. Each day is designed to help new and seasoned professionals strengthen their expertise and learn about best practices industrywide.

On July 15, we will host the 2017 Garrett A. Morgan Youth Symposium. This will be a full day of fun-filled learning activities for middle school and high school students, as well as for new high school graduates. Some of the hands-on activities include autonomous vehicles, driving simulators and information about transportation-related careers. All sessions will focus on the most creative methods under development to move people and things in the 21st Century. We believe this is a wonderful opportunity for young people to use the past inventive skills of Garrett A. Morgan as a stepping stone to connect to the transportation innovations of the future.
